Haddington House Wedding
Haddington House Wedding
Lisa and Proinnsias Haddington House Wedding || Dublin Wedding Photographer
If there’s one thing you know that I love as a Dublin Wedding Photographer, it’s unique weddings. This wedding gave me all of that and more. I am so excited to share it with you. First, the ceremony was at the Maritime Museum.
Then this couple treated family and loved ones to a seaside wedding reception at Haddington House. Everyone had such a lovely time, and I enjoyed documenting it all. I practiced my candid wedding photography capturing details from Shakespeare to gas masks and pocket watches.
Lisa and Proinnsias, the couple in this lovely wedding, are great to work with. We had such a lovely time discussing their goals for their Dublin wedding photography. I am glad that I did not let them down. Here are a few words on this beautiful celebration and how the day went.
The Wedding Venues
National Maritime Museum of Ireland
Prepare to enjoy the lovely laid-back way that this couple celebrated their ceremony at the Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire. This venue is a unique space with lots of character. It was the perfect location for Lisa and Proinnsias’s wedding. I was able to get gorgeous wedding photos as a result.
The Maritime Museum is great for couples planning an Irish Civil ceremony. You’ll love the nautical theme with boats, flags and impressive architecture. This restored nineteenth-century building is magnificent. There are also many great spaces where you can take your wedding pictures, just as Lisa and Proinnsias did here.
Haddington House
Where do I begin and stop with Haddington House? The location is fantastic, the views are stunning, and the food is excellent. As a Dublin wedding photographer, I love this venue! The pier and coastline are perfect for photos, and the history adds to the beauty of this venue.
Haddington House is not your average wedding venue. There are many great spaces for your wedding celebration here, including the sea-facing garden. This is where Lisa and Proinnsias had their cocktail hour. They then had their wedding reception indoors. Haddington House also offers onsite accommodations.
Getting Ready
I started the day by capturing Lisa and her loved ones as they got ready for the wedding. She looked relaxed and ready for the day in a velvet robe. They shared a toast, and I was also able to document other vital details.
Some are the wedding ring, the bouquet, the wedding dress and the bridal shoes. The wedding dress was an off-white sheath dress with a flair at the bottom and worked perfectly for this Haddington House wedding. Then it was time for the ceremony.
The Ceremony
One cannot overstate the beauty of the National Maritime Museum. I had a lovely time taking pictures of the wooden details, flags, monuments and more. I also had a lovely time documenting the groom as he arrived and received a pocket watch as a wedding day gift.
The ceremony started with Lisa being walked down the aisle by her dad. She looked wonderful. Proinnsias looked delighted to see her. Then the ceremony started and included a lovely candle lighting, an exchange of rings and special vows. After being declared married, the couple then shared a kiss.
After-Wedding Meet and Greet/ Cocktail Hour/Wedding Photo shoot
After the ceremony, the couple had a little meet and greet with loved ones outside the venue. Then we had the first aspect of their wedding photoshoot at their ceremony venue. Who can resist the lovely photo opportunities that the Museum offers both indoors and outdoors?
It was a short walk from there to the pier at Haddington House. There I captured more lovely photos of this couple. This included an iconic one where the couple had on gas masks with a blue smokebomb in the background. You’ll love it. The couple then headed down to the sea-facing garden at Haddington House for their cocktail hour.
Lisa and Proinnsias had a lovely cocktail hour with guests who looked delighted to see them. Everything, including the subtle décor at this location, made it fun. This is also where Lisa chose to do her bouquet toss. I had a great time capturing the couple with their loved ones during cocktail hour.
Haddington House Wedding Reception
Candles, wine and laughter, heralded the start of this couple’s beautiful Indoors wedding reception. Everyone looked delighted to be a part of this celebration. The speeches were lovely, and when it was time to dance, everyone was in the best spirits. The subtle décor and impressive lighting made the atmosphere special. I also loved that Lisa and Proinnsias had a great time themselves.
Final Words
There were many aspects of this Haddington House wedding that stood out to me. As a Dublin wedding photographer, I love it when couples personalize their celebrations. This couple did just that and had a relaxed, down-to-earth wedding.
It was terrific to document something so genuine and memorable. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lovely wedding Lisa and Proinnsias. I wish you both the best now and always.
