The Shelbourne Hotel Wedding
The Shelbourne Hotel Wedding
Same Sex Wedding Dublin
I love capturing intimate and beautiful wedding ceremonies. So, when Paul and Jérôme reached out, I was excited for a chance to experience the Shelbourne Hotel wedding. Documenting a same sex wedding in Dublin can be such a delight.
I had a lovely time at this celebration. You could tell that love was in the air. The venue also made such a beautiful backdrop. Here’s a recap of how I used my candid wedding photography skills to document Paul and Jérôme’s beautiful special moments.
- The Wedding Venue
The Shelbourne Hotel is an iconic wedding venue with a rich history spanning over 200 years. It is an all-inclusive venue, and weddings here are elegant and relaxed. The facilities are up to date, and the staff are helpful and nice.
Paul and Jérôme had their celebration at the Adam and Deirdre Suite. This space is really cosy and intimate. It also has a wonderful view of St. Stephen’s Green and beautiful historical décor. You’ll also love the soft pastel colours and exquisitely ornate ceilings.
- Getting Ready
I love celebrations that focus on the couple being themselves and happy. This same sex wedding in Dublin portrayed that lovely vibe right from the start. The couple got ready together, and I was able to capture many beautiful and romantic moments between the two.
Jérôme and Paul got ready in a gorgeous grand suite with lovely views. They looked very bespoke in their suits and bowties. I loved capturing wonderful portrait photos of them in colour and black and white.
As part of getting ready photos, I also love to capture views of the wedding venue before the celebration starts. I did the same for the Shelbourne Hotel Wedding with details like the wedding program and the seating arrangements.
- The Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony of this same sex wedding in Dublin started on a delightful note, with guests excitedly waiting for the couple. I had a lovely time using my candid wedding photography skills to take pictures of the guests.
The ceremony started with the couple walking hand in hand down the aisle. Another lovely detail I loved about this relaxed and elegant wedding. It was intimate, with guests expressing their joy and welcomes as they walked to the altar. A harpist played the wedding march.
The wedding ceremony was beautiful and featured a candle-lighting unity ceremony. Paul and Jérôme said their vows and then exchanged rings. You could clearly see their love for each other in their eyes.
Then it was time for the couple to share a lovely kiss and then sign their certificate. Then they were declared married and happily walked back to cheers and welcomes from their guests. They also had a lovely meet and greet before everyone headed to enjoy cocktail hour.
- Cocktail Hour
Paul and Jérôme had a lovely time sharing cocktail hour with their guests at the Shelbourne hotel wedding. I used my candid wedding photography skills to capture the moments here while staying unnoticed. It always makes for genuine photos, and you can see the happy smiles.
- Wedding Day Photography
We could not help but head over to the lovely St. Stephen’s Green for this couple’s wedding day photos. I captured the moments as Paul and Jérôme walked hand in hand to the park. They looked very in love and happy. We also used doorways and the lovely architecture around as backdrops.
The photos from the park itself were beautiful. Here I used my nature photography skills to capture the couple with the trees as a lovely background. Their wedding day couple and single portraits came out looking wonderful. After this, we all headed back to The Shelbourne hotel for the reception.
- The Wedding Reception
Paul and Jérôme’s same sex wedding in Dublin had a beautiful wedding reception. However, before the couple headed in, I took some lovely portraits of them inside the hotel. Then they walked in to applause from their excited and ready guests.
Speeches kicked off the lovely reception, and there was joy, laughter and fun. The slideshow of the couple’s relationship was a beautiful moment that stood out. It reminded everyone how photos are a great way to preserve and share special memories in future.
Soon it was time for toasts, and then the couple shared a beautiful first dance. I made sure to document special moments like those and had a lovely time celebrating this couple’s love.
- Conclusion
I love weddings that are relaxed and have genuinely happy people. The Shelbourne hotel wedding of Paul and Jérôme was one of those kinds of weddings. Everyone had a lovely time, and I enjoyed documenting the moments. I wish the couple and their loved ones many, many happy years.
