I love being able to travel. There’s something very invigorating about seeing a new place with different people. It helps to broaden my perspective, and it also provides me with the opportunity to take some fantastic pictures. I recently completed a trip to Lanzarote, a Spanish island in the beautiful Canary Islands, and it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. All around the island, we saw crisp white buildings set against sloping earth hills. While in Lanzarote, I got to see many of the island’s impressive sites. At Rancho Texas Park, we saw owls, parrots, tigers, seals, and more.
At el Golfo, Punta del Papagayo, and Mirador del Rio, and Costa Teguise, we got amazing views of the beautiful water around Lanzarote. The island has both beautiful sandy beaches and dramatic coastlines with waves crashing against steep cliffs. One of my favorite sites of the trip was Cueva de los Verdes, a cave formed by lava thousands of years ago that has unique colors left in the rock. Other sites we visited included Jameos del Aqua, Arrecife, Yaiza, Haria, Charco de los Clics, and los Hervideros. For a relatively small island, there was so much to see. Just driving around Lanzarote was an experience in itself.
Outside of the towns, we saw massive ochre hills spreading out into the distance. There’s something a little stark about the island’s beauty, but it really sticks with you. It’s hard to accurately convey Lanzarote’s beauty through words, so I invite you to check out my travel photography below.
