Alana And Rory’s Winter Wedding

A memorable wedding day doesn’t necessarily have to be blown out with all the full works like most weddings nowadays tend to be. Don’t get me wrong; I also love wedding like those, but casual and laid-back weddings like Alana and Rory’s hold a special place in my heart. Weddings like these have a way of emphasizing on a fun time while letting the couples express themselves and I love it when they do. From the tweed suits to the bouquets made of succulents, here’s the lovely story of when Alana and Rory tied the knot in a winter ceremony at Rathsallagh House.

Getting Dressed

There’s a reason why Rathsallagh House is an award-winning venue, and when you look at the pictures from this wedding, you’ll understand. I first captured Alana and her ladies getting ready. The atmosphere is casual, stress-free and all smiles. Alana’s gorgeous dress is from Dublin Bridal House, and the way it drapes around her most magnificently is great to see.

She shares some champagne with her ladies as they pose for some getting ready shots from me and the bridesmaids look amazing in their shimmering dresses too. There’s even a football as part of the surprise props. The couple has an emotional first look, and I am able to capture some really great pictures of them before we all head to where the ceremony holds.

The Ceremony

Alana and Rory’s wedding ceremony has many special elements, including even a hand binding. The atmosphere at their wedding is solemn and beautiful. I was also able to capture the special moments, their wedding party and their loved ones. I am so glad I got to be a part of this special and unique ceremony.

The décor was simple and elegant with gorgeous greenery. Their wedding procession started with two gorgeous flowers girls each holding a lovely bouquet and then three little groomsmen. Both Niall and Mario were escorted down the aisle by their parents and the hug they shared after the procession was just so emotional. It was all smiles and emotions at this ceremony, and I am so glad I got to be a part of its beauty.

Something That Stood Out at The Ceremony

There we many things that stood out and were different at Alana and Rory’s wedding. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the wedding bouquet was made mostly of succulents. There was also a hand binding ceremony.

A Hand Binding Ceremony

Dating as far back as ancient Celtic culture, the hand binding tradition has quite the history behind it, and Alana and Rory had one at their winter wedding. They had a beautiful hand binding with their celebrant fastening their hands together to symbolizing their devotion and joining together.

After the ceremony, the couple has a little meet and greet with their guests outside before we head off to the photoshoot.

The Photoshoot

Alana and Rory’s photoshoot involved smoke bombs, their puppy and lots of fun. They’re a great couple, and their wedding party made the moments even better and fun. I got lovely pictures of everyone which you can see below.

The Reception

Rathsallagh House is a majestic beauty to behold at night. It comes alive with beautiful lights that make the atmosphere just lovely. I couldn’t resist. I had to sneak Alana and Rory out for some pictures. The reception itself was lovely and fun with lots of dancing. I was able to take great pictures of the first dance, the speeches and the fun on the dancefloor too.

How Did I Do at Alana And Rory’s Wedding

I loved it!!! The casual and fun atmosphere of their wedding was beautiful to capture. I had a great time and lots of fun too. Rathsallagh House is a great destination for weddings, and we had no stress at all, finding great places to take pictures there as well. It was easy to see the love that this couple had for themselves and their family. I am so happy they had a great wedding and wish them the best that life has to offer in their marriage.

Cake: was made by Roeens in Rathfarnham village.

Cars: no cars required, all on site, Bride was driven down from her home where she got ready by her Dad in his Merc!

Wedding Favours: For this we ordered hand made glass Robins, from “Fused Glass Cornwall” in the UK, they were to signify family and friends who had passed on.
