A Summer Photo Session in the Wicklow Mountains
Leigha and Jessy Summer Wedding Photo Session
Wicklow National Park in The Summer
Introduction
A summer photo session in Wicklow Mountains? Sign me up! Fresh, warm, bright and clean, summer wedding photos are easily one of my favorites. That’s what Leigha and Jessy had. This couple did not elope here, no. They’d actually already eloped in the US. They just wanted to have their photo-shoot in Ireland and Wicklow National Park was the gorgeous backdrop for it.
The beauty of this country shines through our landscape and skyscapes, and it’s my job to capture this beauty. They chose a summer day because the weather is most likely to cooperate and your wedding photos will be in line with the beautiful summer wedding spirit.
The Photo Session
This session was in the Wicklow Mountains, just outside of Dublin. The quiet summer morning was the perfect opportunity to get the fantastic photos which you can see below. Wicklow National Park is a gem in an already beautiful countryside. Leigha and Jessy are also quite gorgeous if I do say so myself. I love summer wedding shoots because it’s already wedding season so you can almost physically feel the love in the air.
Leigha had on a lovely flowing gown made of light tulle fabric which was just perfect for the weather, while Jessy had on a cute black suit with a tie. I captured shots of them walking hand in hand with the sun looking amazing on their skins. The rolling fields in the back also looked perfect in a shot where the bride and the groom share a sizzling kiss filled with emotions and love.
We had a bit of walking, stopping and shooting through the fields, so they have pictures from those moments too. We even had some surprise natural live prop with some sheep finding their way into our images which I also enjoyed capturing. There is nothing like spending your summer day in a beautiful place like Wicklow Mountains, with the sun in your face.
Why I Love Summer Photo Sessions
Summer is the season that most couples have their wedding day. The hot weather can be more comforting to most than the cold, especially when you’re thinking about the revealing or thin wedding gown you or your partner have to wear on that day. Furthermore, it is also reassuring that summer is least likely to bring a rainy day, which can be very unfortunate if you have your wedding outside.
Generally, summer days tend to be much longer than in other seasons. This change in days makes summer the season of freedom, and lots of people enjoy this. If you’re the outdoors type, then you would relish having your engagement, bridal and wedding photos taken during this season, as you will have more daylight to work with. The fun and freedom that you are feeling are also sure to show in your pictures, making them even more gorgeous.
If you’re interested in summer photos in Wicklow National Park, you should absolutely go for it. Just remember that it is a busy wedding season for your Irish wedding photographer so book way ahead of time. You can also choose to have your wedding pictures taken on a weekday as opposed to a weekend, especially if it’s a bridal session or an engagement session.
You can have the session turn into a lovely date night with your partner at night. Warm, summer weather and little chances of rain make it the perfect season to take nature and adventure couple photos. There is a lot of sunlight, so sunset couples’ photos also tend to be the most popular, so if you’re a trendy couple, this could also be a good idea for you. Sunrise sessions are also gorgeous, like the ones in this picture.
