Rustic weddings are a timeless celebration that favour natural and straightforward settings. They have a strong country influence and are a great way to focus on celebrating the couple getting married and the love between them. Rustic weddings are often casual and feature décor that includes lots of natural elements like wood, wildflowers, greenery, etc. There’s an elegance that comes with having a simple rustic wedding, and Krystal and Connor’s wedding captured it. I was more than honored to document this lovely milestone in their relationship.

Dressing Up

Capturing a couple on the morning of their wedding is one of the rare privileges that we photographers often get to enjoy. The excitement involved as they finally get ready for a day they’ve been planning for a long time is so beautiful to capture. All the stress of wedding planning has culminated in this day, and they’re more than ready to get started. I began my day by capturing Krystal and her ladies getting ready. The ladies had some light conversation and laughter while the makeup artist worked on everyone. I had the opportunity to capture some fantastic shots while this happened.

I also took the classic shot of Krystal’s beautiful wedding dress. This is where the switch up for this wedding came in. Krystal’s gown was a beautiful non-white dress that fits right in with the lovely rustic theme of their wedding. A simple yet elegant and gorgeous dress that matched with her bridesmaid’s dresses it featured a greenery pattern that added to its simplistic elegance. The ladies also braided leaves and other greenery into their hair to fit with the theme too. From there, we all went to the church for the ceremony after everyone was ready.

The Ceremony

Krystal and Connor’s wedding ceremony took place at Saint Mary’s Church. Krystal’s ladies walked down the aisle first starting with the little flower girl (except there were no flowers, just beautiful greenery in her hair). The bridal party’s bouquets (another switch up) was also made of greenery entirely. Krystal was then escorted down the aisle, and the love in Connor’s eyes as he saw her was so breathtaking. They both said their “I dos”, the presiding priest said his blessings, and then we headed to Wicklow national park for their photo shoot.

The Photo-shoot

Wicklow National Park is a fantastic location for wedding photos in Wicklow. The beauty of this country shines through the landscape of this park, and I made it my job to capture this beauty. The fantastic view of the couple surrounded by the trees in the national park made their pictures come out amazing if I do say so myself. The couple’s two furry friends also featured in this shoot making it so much fun. After the portrait pictures of the couple and some shoots with their furry friends, next were the photos with a beautiful vintage Mercedes Benz which added to the beauty of the photo shoot.

The Reception

Krystal and Connor had their wedding reception at Ballybeg House. Ballybeg House gave their wedding a unique atmosphere of charm with the decorations and location looking beautiful. The rustic wedding theme was specially represented by the greenery and the candlelight dinner that came together to create a stunning wedding.

Ballybeg House wedding are often unique, and the venue is an excellent location if you want to have a rustic wedding as Krystal and Connor did. I took amazing pictures of the couple, their wedding party and their guests here too.

The reception itself was full of fun and laughter, and they had a massive white cake decorated with leaves to keep to their wedding theme. Everyone had lots of fun during the wedding speeches, and the string lights added to the charming atmosphere of the wedding reception.

What I Think About the Wedding

Krystal and Connor’s wedding was a lovely ceremony, and I am always grateful for a chance to capture unique weddings like these. The day was beautiful because it was in the summer, and the atmosphere overall was relaxed and fun.

A Ballybeg House wedding is often an opportunity for couples to have their unique dream wedding, and it was the same for this couple. I also enjoyed meeting their wedding party, guests and even their furry friends!
