Intimate Elopement Wedding Ireland
Kristy and Ben travelled all the way from Florida to get married in Ireland. They wanted to visit some of Ireland’s most beautiful sites, incorporating the beauty of Ireland’s landscape and the spirit of its history into their elopement.
I spent the day with just the two of them and witnessed a beautifully intimate elopement that spoke to the couple’s closeness and adventurous spirit. We started the day at the beautiful Ballinalacken Castle, where the bride and groom got ready in stately rooms overlooking rolling Irish hills.
This lovely couple held their ceremony in Kilfenora Abbey in Kilfenora, County Clare. They said their vows and joined their love in a traditional hand-tying ceremony. Kilfenora Abbey’s beautiful old stonework and romantic arches set a lovely scene, but it was clear from the many stolen glances that Kristy and Ben were most interested in looking at each other.
Following their ceremony, the couple travelled to Vaughan’s Pub in Kilfenora for a celebratory pint of Guinness, cake, and pictures. When we had a break in the characteristic Irish rain, Kristy changed into some wellies to brave the Irish landscape.
We travelled to the Cliffs of Moher, where we were able to take some beautiful pictures. It was one of the most romantic weddings I’ve photographed, and I’m glad they got to incorporate so many aspects of traditional Irish culture (castles, an old abbey, rain, the Cliffs of Moher, and Guinness) into their wedding.
