K + P | Maryborough Hotel | Wedding Photographer Cork
Every wedding is different, but Katie and Pat’s wedding in Cork had some truly unique details. The first thing that set their wedding apart was the location. The couple held their ceremony in the Loreto Convent Chapel Fermoy, a stunning historic chapel built in 1870. The church is a private one belonging to the Loreto sisters, and it is typically restricted to use by the Loreto Secondary School. The bride’s father, Patrick Flynn, worked closely with the Loreto sisters for 45 years before they moved to Kilkenny. Because of this relationship, Katie and Pat, with special permission from Bishop Crean, were able to hold their reception in the chapel. This made their wedding the first and last ceremony to ever be held in the church. Surrounded by exquisite wood paneling and an impressive dais, it was a beautiful ceremony, and it was even more special for knowing that it is totally unique.
I was then lucky enough to photograph this lovely couple in the scenic woods and castle ruins near the church. It was a beautiful setting to showcase the love between them. Following the ceremony, their reception at Maryborough Hotel was an incredible time for all of their friends and family, and it was a clear example of Katie and Pat’s fun-loving nature. The evening was full of dancing, and the groom even surprised the bride with a choreographed dance featuring some of their young family members. Everyone ended the night with a smile, and I think Katie and Pat will keep those smiles on for years to come.
