M + C | Wineport Lodge Wedding | Irish Documentary Wedding Photography
Magda & Colm’s wedding day. I do not think that I will be able to forget that day anytime soon. Why? Well, let me tell you their story…. This amazing couple decided to book me as a photographer for their wedding a few months ago. However, I only had a pleasure to meet them in person 2 days before the event. From the first moment I met them they seemed very friendly, genuine, relaxed, happy and totally in love with each other.
When Magda finally told me a little bit about her vision for the day, I quickly became aware that it might be one of the most beautiful weddings I photographed this year. There was only one way to find out… Two days later, I travelled to Wineport Lodge in order to capture the most exciting and precious moments of Magda and Colm’s lives, before and during their wedding.
Unfortunately, when I finally got there the weather was not so great. It was raining. At that moment, everything seemed bad, especially that the ceremony was designed to take place outside. Everyone wished and prayed for the weather to change quickly, so that the ceremony can go ahead as planned. The time passed fast and nothing seemed to change.
Only one hour before the wedding ceremony, the weather finally started to change for the better, and with slight rays of sunshine came hope. We were now awaiting a decision from the wedding’s planner. About thirty minutes before the ceremony, Magda received a phone call and was given the best news. Her wedding ceremony was going to take place outside, just as it was planned.
Magda and Colm were ecstatic, and could not believe that their special day will actually be what they hoped and prepared for. And so it started… The bride looked beautiful. The rays of sunshine landed on her face, making her look even happier. She looked very feminine and romantic. The groom kept staring in her eyes.
They behaved as if the world did not matter to them anymore: it was just him and her. They could not have hoped for the better day. It was perfect. The ceremony itself took place in beautiful surroundings, with a lovely lake and green trees surrounding the couple. It was like a picture taken from a fairy tale. After the ceremony all of the guests moved to a cocktail bar, where they extended their wishes to the newlyweds.
Afterwards, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and surroundings, and took a few shots of the couple. I wanted to capture their love and happiness. Without a doubt, this had been one of the best weddings I worked on this year. It was not due to the fact that the weather was great, but because I was able to be in this wonderful place and feel the big love which joined those 2 people together.
